Was Vivaldi in love with young soprano Anna Giraud? Apollo’s Fire musicians explore this question as we take you back to Valentine’s Day in 1725. Double-concertos by Vivaldi and Telemann that are sometimes playful, sometimes romantic, alongside arias of love by Monteverdi and Vivaldi. Vivaldi’s fiery Concerto for Four Violins ends the program with Passion. Period.
