Apollo’s Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra (AF), will delight northeast Ohio audiences during its 24th Anniversary Season with EIGHT productions (26 concerts). Performing in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Summit counties, AF’s 2015-16 schedule includes subscription series on the east side of Cleveland, the west side of Cleveland, and Akron, in addition to maintaining a national touring schedule.
Following the ensemble’s sold-out debut at the prestigious Tanglewood Festival in July, “Apollo’s Fire under the direction of Sorrell has put Cleveland firmly on the period-performance map” (The New Yorker). With sold-out BBC Proms (London) and Aldeburgh Festival debuts both slated for this August, “AF’s global profile is clearly higher than ever, and rising” (The Plain Dealer).
2015-16 northeast Ohio performances will be held in the following cities: Akron, Bath, Berea, Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Fairlawn, Rocky River, Shaker Heights, and Willoughby Hills. Highlights of the season include reprisals of past season’s sell-out programs: Sacrum Mysterium: A Celtic Christmas, Praetorius Christmas Vespers and Sephardic Journey. Additional programs will include the Splendor of Venice, the medieval drama Beowulf, Passions of Handel & Vivaldi starring renowned soprano Amanda Forsythe, Bach’s St. John Passion, and A Harlequin Romance. Please refer to www.apollosfire.org for a complete schedule.
Placing an ad in the Apollo’s Fire program book allows you to connect with a large and varied audience, and at the same time, provides support to a highly-respected and critically-acclaimed non-profit arts organization. Last season AF sold over 11,000 tickets to its local subscription series concerts.
